Recently the legal team at General Motors applied to gain back the trademark for the name Chevrolet Chevelle. Thus leading to rampant speculation that Chevrolet would be bringing back the iconic model in the next few years. While top brass at GM has not mentioned anything of the sort, it is still a lot of fun to speculate about what these moves mean. Typically, these ‘re-news’ only include some name and interior quirks, what sets this effort apart is that it also included exterior car badges for the model. This rare step is what hopeful future Chevelle owners have been hanging on to as they try and read Chevrolet press releases as tea leaves. Such as, GM North American president Mark Reuss recently said a small, lightweight sports car, targeting the likes of the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ was under consideration. The Code 130R concept car has also been describe as a possible suitor for the Chevelle name. Remember this is purely conjecture at this point, but hey the Chevelle was an awesome vehicle, so we’re willing to partake in the exercise.

The 2014 Z/28 Camaro: Lockport’s First Look
This week Chevrolet unveiled a model strictly for those who love performance vehicles, the Z/28 Chevrolet Camaro. This refresh of the Camaro has been described as a “street legal race car”, and it certainly lives up to the billing. Coming in with a 7.0 liter LS7 Engine (the same found in a C6 Corvette) this vehicle carries whopping 500 horsepower, and 470 Pound Feet of torque. While those performance upgrades would be impressive enough on their own, the car also weighs 300 pounds less than the supercharged ZL1 Camaro. The V8 engine can be heard roaring down the street from miles away, and is really built for the consumer who loves traditional performance engines. It will be the most expensive Camaro ever made, but hey, you pay for what you get right?
Heinrich Chevrolet’s recent TV commercials have garnered a lot of responses from people throughout Western New York and so we responded in kind with a page on our website full of all of those commercials for your viewing pleasure! So without further ado here is the link:
Just next week Chevrolet is getting ready to unveil a refreshed version of the 2014 SS Camaro at the Detroit Auto Show. As of the date of this post Chevrolet is being somewhat tight-lipped about what all of the changes are. What they have done in anticipation of next week’s reveal is to give us a peak at a whole new redesigned grill and the stockier frame that make this new SS version stand out.
Western New York winters can sometimes make taking a hand off the wheel to attend to a radio less than desirable. While Chevrolet isn’t only car with controls placed on the steering wheel, it is the the only car manufacturer that offers the MyLink Infotainment System in the dashboard.
